Hallo!  Ich bin Michelle Ishmael, aka Frau Ish.
My love for the German language began at Tremper - Danke, Frau Nielsen!  After studying German and Spanish at Tremper, I continued both languages at Carthage College, earning a BA in German with a certification to teach German.  After a few years teaching middle school, I earned my Reading Teacher Certification and a Masters Degree in Human Services.  Most recently I earned an Alternate Education certification.

I live in Kenosha with my husband, children, our dog Badger and Mr. Grumpypants the Tortoise.  For several years I was a Girl Scout leader and coach for CYC Softball and Baseball.  Now I cheer from the sidelines of the baseball field and hockey rink.

I love to learn and to share what I know.  My favorite thing about teaching German is that there are so many connections to be made!  From cognates to culture, German is relevant and important to American lives...far too important to be forgotten!  Join me and we can learn together!
