Masks are used in cultures across the globe. Some masks are part of elaborate costumes for ceremonies and some are worn during celebrations. During Carnival (Karneval, Fasching, Carnevale, Carnaval), parade- and party-goers often wear full or partial masks. Explore this cultural tradition and then create your own mask for the contest!
Enter in one of these categories:
Traditional - Create a mask worthy of a parade in New Orleans, Cologne, or Rio de Janeiro
Cultural - Create a mask that is unique to the culture of your language
Original - Create a mask that is sure to be an eye-catcher
The Rules:
Masks can be created by an individual or a group of students.
Any medium can be used (paper, fabric, cardboard, wood, metal, gingerbread...be creative!)
Masks must be brought to Kenosha eSchool for judging.
Masks must be school-appropriate.
The Party:
Bring your mask to Kenosha eSchool for the reveal, judging and a celebration! There will be refreshments and activities.
